i kept meaning to write about shotgun & jaybird for too long. now that i just found out the most exciting news about this band from the discussion between me and tum (aka dj bookie), yesindie founder. this has got to speak out!

julie doiron – four string low guitar/vox

are you watching closely? i mean, JULIE DOIRON!!!! omg! i been doubting it for so long. was wondering if the girl vox in shotgun & jaybird is doiron because the singing style/voice is very alike to her.
this’s great news for me and all doiron fans. and what’s funny is that, earlier i doubted about it but never had an effort to search for info =.= (lazybum, i know) and later on we knew that doiron been touring with the band so… yeah now the secret is no more! she is actually in the band :D ha! anyway, she just joined the band in 2005 (on bass and vocals)
crafting lo-fi indie rock, alternative-indie, alt. country, shotgun & jaybird hails from sackville, new brunswick, canada. in my opinion, its music resembles a lot of pet politics (view post entry here), 764-hero and a tad of pavement + sebadoh

madeline writes songs using simple words in her pleasant quiet folk songs. she sings beautifully with her guitar along with her clapping hands, backing vocals and humming.
she began performing her songs in athens, georgia, usa at the age of 15 in 2002. she once fronted the local psychedelic pop band, the sugar shakers.
