i should be concentrating on my work now but i totally got distracted by hearing whispering angelic voice of kaki king that added on king’s third album until we felt red (released on aug 8, 06) and the tremendous beauty of her acoustic guitar playing.

king loves the guitar so much and is an instrumental acoustic guitar virtuoso, presently living in new york. if you want to hear king’s singing, browse for tracks: yellowcake, you don’t have to be afraid, jessica, second brain and i never said i love you

the overall album holds an airy acoustic post rock music style.

the band comprises trish young and jodi phillis, ex-members of the clouds band which broke up in 1997–the successful indie rock band from sydney, australia

the girls from the clouds - saw you with a girl

matt skiba of alkaline trio met josiah steinbrick of thieves like us and formed a band named heavens in los angeles, california, united states.

they debuted album entitled patent pending under record label, epitaph. the US released date is sept 12, 2006 while in the EU is dated sept 11, 2006.

steinbrick would write instrumental works first and handed them to skiba to listen and add lyrics, then eventually polish the arrangements together. the album was initially written in august, 2004.

the output is indifferent from joy division, interpol, she wants revenge, elefant, editors, etc. skiba’s vocals here are pretty darkly beautiful. the album is catchy.

despite being called unoriginal in this side-project endeavour, this punk rock duo makes listenable indie-rock record. and admit it, only matt skiba alone can use his charm to gain fan-base from this bald-headed look regardless of alkaline trio reputation!!

i’m now listening to antony and the johnsons and the album, i am a bird now with an ironic smile on my face. of course, this can be called “heang’s usual habit” *shame*

so what? hey, at least i am not afraid to confess it! i used to say that i disliked this artist before, but now i changed my mind ;o) i know i know! typical me hehe

i believe that almost everything depends on one’s moods. moods are very subtle, fragile and hardly pleased thing! and sometimes we got to skip the logic part.

now that this album really gets me so. no excuses. i no longer wonder why antony and the johnsons - i am a bird now won the britain’s mercury prize as album of the year in 2005.

can you imagine what would it sound like to have an oasis song wonderwall sung in jazz style along with big band added with swing arrangements? 

paul anka released ‘rock swings’ record on 6/7/2005 consisting of all classic rock songs in 80’s era such as, wonderwall by oasis, tears in heaven by eric clapton, it’s my life by bon jovi, smells like teen spirit by nirvana, it’s a sin by pet shop boys, etc. and turned them all to a very pleasant jazzy album!
